Osteoarthritis is a painful degenerative joint disease, commonly caused due to aging process, wear and tear of the body tissues and senile changes. The cartilage, designed to act like a cushion between the joints, wears out and breaks down or becomes thin in some areas. This results in disintegration and exposure of articular surfaces causing intense joint pain.

Females suffer more from Rheumatoid arthritis than males, there is symmetrical and multiple joint involvement often causing intense and distressing pain swelling, inflammation and stiffness.

Ankylosing spondylitis is a common form of autoimmune arthritis, wherein due to affection of spinal vertebrae, spine becomes 'bamboo' like, and there is progressing stiffness accompanied with pain and immobility.
